博士生导师、研究员。主要从事泥石流灾害防治方面的科研工作，重点开展防治工程关键参数计算、技术研发及效果评价研究。发表学术论文100余篇，其中SCI／EI检索30篇；第一主编出版图集一部，参与专著撰写5部；获得中国发明专利、实用新型专利授权50余项；获四川省科学进步一等奖1项、西藏自治区科学技术一等奖1项、中国科学院杰出科技成就奖（集体）1项、水力发电科学技术奖一等奖1项。
